Business Matchmaking

To promote and strengthen trade between fisheries and aquaculture producers with potential clients, we installed a special meeting area, with the support of the Commercial Intelligence Department of CONAPESCA and PROMEXICO.

With 203 arranged meetings, we had as a result an expected sale of 6.5 million dollars a month.
Among the buyers, there were 2 from Canada, 4 from the United States, 4 from China, 1 from South Korea and 10 from Mexico.

The most demanded products were: abalone, squid, shrimp farming, lobster, scallops, sardine, sea cucumber, oyster and clams. While there was an exceeded demand on products like lobster, sea cucumber, shark fin and fish maw.

For the first time, in this framework, different approaches were made between academic institutions and fisheries and aquaculture producers, which gave as a result an interest in acquiring 16 companies related to nutrition services, new fisheries laboratories, finance projects, biological assessments, funding and new processes.
